Salzkammer District

One-day Classic Car Tour “Salzkammer District”

In the footsteps of Sisi and the Emperor Franz Joseph

Back: Wachau    Next: Salzburg

The Salzkammer District is a jewel of nature and was rightfully the summer residence of the Austrian Emperor.

So, it does seem appropriate to visit this natural landscape with classic cars.

The tour takes us via the municipality of Fuschl along Lake Wolfgang to the imperial mansion in Bad Ischl. A tour of the mansion takes roughly 45 minutes and provides an in-depth look into the lives of Empress Sisi and the Emperor Franz Joseph. After a short coffee break and a traditional pastry called Zauner-Kipferl we set off in our classic cars.

The Weissenbach Valley takes us to the southern shores of Lake Attersee, Austria’s largest inland lake. En route to Unterach we follow the banks of Lake Mondsee to our lunch reservation.

In the Panoramagasthof restaurant, guests enjoy a wonderful view of Schafberg Mountain and Lake Mondsee.

On the way back with the classic cars, guests can stop for coffee at Mattsee Castle before returning to the tour’s starting point.
