Mercedes 350 SL Cabriolet
Mercedes-Benz 350 SL Convertible
When the 1971 model appeared on the scene, a lot of people found it plain and simply awful. Whilst the rest of
the model range still drove around with rounded, bulbous wings, here everything was matter of fact, plain and straight.
But by the time its presence as a new car ended after 18 fabulous years, it had long advanced into a classic. With
this model, Mercedes said goodbye to the original SL “super light” designation, for the car weighed 1,500 kg.
The 350 SL was fast and had good road-holding, but most owners preferred the relaxed driving anyway.
